Collision Investigation

We offer expert analysis of the incident circumstances and apply unique knowledge of collision reconstruction with biomechanical understanding to provide robust reports into the circumstances of your collision.

Our various software products enables the reconstruction of events using detailed 3D vehicle and highly validated occupant models to simply and confidently demonstrate the movement of vehicles or seating position of occupants; to answer your questions.

Our aim is to provide detailed but understandable reports for the court.

We provide detailed analysis on:

  • The physical evidence including scene survey and any identified marks
  • Damage assessment and interpretation
  • Witness evidence reliability
  • Injury causation
  • Liability and fault

In Road Traffic Collisions, there are a number of factors to consider.

The Scene
The definition of Biomechanics is:  The study of the mechanical laws relating to the movement or structure of living organisms

The location of the incident requires careful analysis of all the data, which would assist in answering questions such as;

  • Was there a road defect or road design failure?
  • Were there factors affecting the condition of the road surface?
  • What is the visibility for a driver, rider or pedestrian?
  • What effect did the weather or the time of day have?

The Vehicles
The careful analysis of a vehicle can reveal evidence to support or refute hypotheses about how an accident happened and who was at fault. This would include:-
Careful analysis of the extent, location and profile of damage
Vehicle examination to determine its condition and answer questions such as;

  • Did the air bags deploy correctly?
  • Were seat belts being worn?

Detailed vehicle Interior inspections can provide evidence to support injury causation and answer questions such as;

  • Where were the occupants sat?
  • Who was the driver?
  • Who was ejected? And where form?

The Witnesses
Understanding the evidential data from the scene and the vehicles involved, can help determine the reliability of witness evidence and help answer questions such as;

  • Could the witness see what they thought?
  • How reliable are they?

CCTV and Dash-Cam Analysis
Frequently these days there is video evidence which can help understand how and why an accident happened. Accurate analysis and interpretation can answer questions such as;

  • How fast were the vehicles travelling?
  • What was the response of the driver or pedestrian?

Combining detailed analysis with a 3D scene survey can enable accurate and informative visualisations to assist an investigation or inform a court.

Here at Advanced SimTech, we can offer a complete service including all these disciplines and provide expert reports and testimony in support of your claim or investigation.
